Overview

BIQ™ (Building Intelligence Quotient) is an affordable and easy to use online intelligent building assessment and ranking tool. It is viewed by the industry as the de-facto standard to evaluate building intelligence.

The objective of the assessment and certification is to demonstrate value and provide guidance that will help to increase the use of intelligent building technology with building owners, operators, managers and designers.

We are pleased to launch the new version of the BIQ™ (Building Intelligence Quotient) 2.0 developed in collaboration with the China Academy for Building Research (CABR) and reviewed with previous BiQ experts. In 2019 CABR asked to form a collaboration agreement with our new BiQ Group that was looking for opportunities to updated the previous BiQ 1.0. They were developing the China Standard for Evaluation of Smart buildings and also wanted to offer the new BiQ 2.0 if it was updated with the many new intelligent building features that had rapidly evolved. A new BiQ Group was incorporated and the new version of the BiQ 2.0 was developed and hosted on a new easy to use on line platform.

For our BETA testing period we are offering a few free pilot projects for those that qualify with plans for a new smart building or have a current building they want to upgrade with intelligent features. Register on the site and provide the contact information requested and you will be contacted shortly to arrange for the free pilot if you qualify and are willing to share the results with the BiQ Group.

History of the Building Intelligence Quotient

The initial version of the BIQ™ (Building Intelligence Quotient) was developed by and with members of the Continental Automated Buildings Association and operated with them till 2013 when it was discontinued as the rapidly evolving features of intelligent buildings was just starting and funding for an update was not available. The BiQ Consortium continued to maintain the BiQ 1.0 website and offer the assessment for free to those still wanting to use the original version. The BiQ 1.0 was an affordable and easy to use online intelligent building assessment and ranking tool. It was viewed by the industry as the first de-facto standard to evaluate building intelligence.
